JAMES HINTZ, EA, Managing Partner

James Hintz

James began his financial services career in 1980 at North Central Financial Services, a family firm. He grew up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and attended the University of Wisconsin. After completing his formal education majoring in Business Administration and Economics, James earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Tax Advisor designations. James has over 40 years of experience as Tax & Financial Advisor allowing him to understand the complex challenges business owners have managing their business and personal finances. He has built a team of allied professionals from multiple disciplines to address all aspects of a business owner’s needs, including: Legal, Tax Mitigation, Asset Protection, Estate Planning, Retirement Planning, Wealth Management, Risk Management and Business Management & Finance.

Experience and Technology have enabled James to build HST Tax Advisory Group, a boutique firm offering customized tax planning & compliance services dedicated to business owners and individuals with an emphasis of forward-looking tax planning services to reduce Federal and State income tax and solve complex tax and business issues.


MARIA HINTZ, Partner & Managing Director

Maria HintzBilingual strategic leader with comprehensive business vision with extensive experience in operations, accounting, and information systems, allowing her to help build a unique tax practice services company. Maria grew up in Bogota, Colombia, and attended the Xaveriana University. After completing her formal education majoring in Business Administration, Maria earned a Masters's Degree in Marketing from Universidad de los Andes. Working as a Chief Operations Officer in the financial service industry allowed her to understand the challenges back-office operations face serving Firm clients. By solving such challenges, she brings value to the HST Tax advisory Group team by introducing cutting-edge technology that allows tax advisors to provide the best platform to deliver superior tax services to businesses and individuals.


JERAMEY HINTZ, CPA, EA, Managing Tax Advisor

jeramey hintzJeramey graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, with an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting. He is a United States Army Reservist. His clients include high net worth individuals and closely-held businesses such as medical practices formed as corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. He proactively works with his clients to identify opportunities and risks from a federal and state tax perspective on business and personal matters. Previously, Senior Tax Associate at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP.


FRANCHESKA SERRANO, EA, Senior Tax Advisor

francheska serranoFran graduated from Universidad de Puerto Rico- Arecibo with an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. Her practice emphasis has been individual and business taxation, with many of her clients being closely held corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. She has extensive expertise in Real Estate transactions, Healthcare and Restaurants. Previously, Tax Associate at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP.


VERONICA BURGOS, Office Manager

Veronica BurgosVeronica is a talented administrative professional, fluent in English and Spanish. She started her managerial career as a Mortgage Broker Assistant, learning customer service and developing organizational skills. In addition, working as Senior Administrative Manager in a Real Estate Brokerage Firm gave her the experience to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, completing the closing of the projects. She has advanced computer and software skills, assisting our clients in getting up to speed with HST processing application software. Veronica is the liaison between the Firm's customers and Tax Advisors.


DAWN FRANKLIN, Retirement Specialist

Dawn FranklinDawn is a seasoned retirement plan specialist with extensive expertise in qualified retirement plans and insurance planning. She spent over two decades building and leading the retirement sales division for a large insurance carrier and has now moved to work directly with business owners and individuals. Dawn is a member of the American Retirement Association, as well as a Qualified 401(k) Administrator. Dawn brings a wealth of knowledge of retirement plan solutions helping both business owners and individuals secure their financial future. She is dedicated to guiding clients through the complexities of retirement planning & insurance and is a trusted partner that will help you achieve your retirement goals.
